Coral Reef
Now, we should all recognize our next category...coral reefs! So what are they, exactly?
o Underwater formation of coral and algae. Dead "skin cells" from the algae form into consolidated limestone, which create unique structures that are the habitat for many marine animals. Why do you think sea creatures enjoy living in coral reefs?

There are also coral reef formations that form over time, such as:
- Fringing reef: grows around a sinking volcanic island,
- becoming a barrier reef around the lagoon island
- Becomes an atoll once the island sinks completely
